Thick Shear Mode Biosensor (TSM) (1) comprising: - a culture medium, - a TSM transducer (3) comprising: an AT cut quartz resonator having two opposite outer surfaces (3A, 3B ) and two metal electrodes (4A, 4B), each metal electrode being deposited on one of the two outer surfaces (3A, 3B), characterized in that the TSM biosensor (1) further comprises a skin explant (2) live ex vivo in contact with the culture medium, comprising the skin explant (2) dermis (2A), epidermis (2B) and stratum corneum (2C), allowing the TSM transducer (3) to measure and convert the electrical parameters to determine the mechanical characteristics of the live skin explant (2) and being configured to generate SST waves in the live skin explant (2) ex vivo and why the dermis (2A) is in contact with the TSM transducer (3) and the stratum corneum (2C) is in contact with air. |
