Anti-adrenomedullin antibody (ADM) or anti-ADM antibody fragment or anti-ADM non-Ig scaffold for use in therapy of an acute disease or acute condition of a patient to stabilize circulation |
abstract |
An anti-adrenomedullin (ADM) antibody or adrenomedullin-binding anti-ADM antibody fragment or adrenomedullin-binding anti-ADM non-Ig scaffold a) for use in the therapy of an acute disease or acute condition of a patient to stabilize the systemic circulation of said patient, wherein said patient needs to stabilize the systemic circulation and exhibits a heart rate of > 100 beats/min and/or < 65 mmHg mean arterial pressure, and wherein stabilizing the systemic circulation means increasing mean arterial pressure above 65 mmHg, or b) for use in preventing an increase in heart rate to > 100 beats/min and/or a decrease in mean arterial pressure to < 65 mmHg in patients who have a disease acute or acute condition, and wherein said antibody or antibody fragment or non-Ig framework binds to a region of at least 4 amino acids within the aa 1-21 sequence of human mature ADM: YRQSMNNFQGLRSFGCRFGTC (SE Q ID NO: 23). |
