Process for generating fermentation products from a starch-containing material comprising the steps of: i) liquefaction of the starch-containing material at a temperature above the initial gelatinization temperature using: - a Bacillus stearothermophilus alpha-amylase having a double deletion of positions 1181 + G182 or R179 + G180 and that has a degree of identity of at least 60% with respect to SEQ ID No: 1 and - a protease that has a thermostability value of more than 50% determined as relative activity at 80 ° C / 70 ° C and also has the amino acid sequence shown as SEQ ID No: 13 or has at least 80% sequence identity with it; and - optionally a carbohydrate source generating enzyme; ii) saccharification using a carbohydrate source generating enzyme; iii) fermentation using a fermentation organism; wherein a cellulolytic composition derived from Trichoderma reesei is present or added during fermentation or simultaneous saccharification and fermentation |
