Process for producing L-methionine, in which a microorganism having L-homoserine Oacetyltransferase activity and O-acetyl-L-homoserine sulfhydrylase activity is grown in a culture medium comprising L-homoserine and a sulfur source, selected from the group consisting of methyl mercaptan, a methyl mercaptan salt and dimethyl disulfide, whereby L-methionine accumulates in the culture medium. |
