abstract | A method of identifying and quantifying a specific target molecule in a sample comprising: testing and selecting a first ligand or a plurality of first ligands and a second ligand or a plurality of second ligands coupled to a detectable label for binding to a molecule Diana; or, selecting a first ligand or a plurality of first ligands and a second ligand or a plurality of second ligands coupled to a detectable label for binding to a target molecule; screening a sample containing the specific target molecule in a high throughput screening assay comprising the steps of: (i) adding a first and a second ligand, each having a first and a second detectable label, (ii) binding the first and second ligands to separate and specific sites on a specific target molecule, wherein the screening assay does not require the step of (iii) washing; detecting an emission of light when the first and second ligands specifically bind to the specific target molecule; thus identifying and quantifying the specific target molecule in a sample, wherein the specific target molecule is selected from a glycoprotein, a lipoprotein, a lipid, a protein fragment, a protein, protein fragments, peptides, a peptide , a nucleic acid, a peptide nucleic acid and synthetic or natural macromolecules. |
