Procedure for the preparation of isosorbide ethoxylate di (meth) acrylate by transesterification of alkyl (meth) acrylate with isosorbide ethoxylate, comprising the steps: (i) isosorbide ethoxylate to give isosorbide ethoxylate, (ii) allowing to react ( alkyl methacrylate with isosorbide ethoxylate in the presence of potassium phosphate as a catalyst and a stabilizer and in the presence of a entraining agent, which forms an azeotrope with the alcohol bound in the alkyl (meth) acrylate, (iii) separating by continuously distilling the azeotrope consisting of entraining agent and alcohol, performing steps (ii) and (iii) at the same time until the isosorbide ethoxylate has essentially completely reacted, (iv) separating the catalyst from the mixture of product containing isosorbide ethoxylate di (meth) acrylate, (v) distilling off the unreacted alkyl (meth) acrylate and entraining agent from the product mixture. |
