abstract |
Process for manufacturing a lithographic printing plate comprising the steps of: a) exposing as an image a lithographic printing plate precursor comprising a hydrophilic support and a coating applied on the support and comprising a dye precursor, forming thus a lithographic image consisting of printing and non-printing areas, and b) developing the plate precursor, thus removing the support coating in the non-printing areas, and c) drying the plate precursor, and d) subjecting the lithographic plate to heat or radiation, thus inducing a color change of the coating in the printing areas, where - before step b) the coating in the non-printing areas and the support are characterized by a color difference ΔE1 according to CIE 1976 of at most 5.0, - after step d) the color difference ΔE2 according to CIE 1976 between the coating in the printing areas and the support uncovered by the development is its higher than 6.8. |
