titleOfInvention | Intelligent medical monitoring of a patient |
abstract | A computer system (2) for the medical monitoring of a patient (P) using one or more physiological models (MOD1, MOD2) implemented in the computer system, the system being configured to: - receive first data (D1) indicative of the characteristics in the inspired gas of the patient (1), - receive second data (D2) indicative of the characteristics of the respiratory feedback in the expired gas of the patient (1), and - receive third data (D3) indicative of the basic acid state and level of oxygenation in the patient's blood (1), the computer system being configured to: i. performing a physiological mathematical modeling of the patient using said first (D1), second (D2) and third (D3) data as a function of time, where the one or more physiological models (MOD1, MOD2) are capable of modeling the patient at over time by sending a plurality of corresponding physiological parameters deductible from said first, second and third data that describe the operation of at least two organ systems and / or physiological systems simultaneously, ii. performing a monitoring process where - if one or more of the physiological parameters that describe the functioning of at least two organ systems and / or physiological systems have a deviation (DEV_P) compared to a related threshold level, the computer system generates : - an indication (IND) of one or more organ systems and / or one or more physiological systems causing said deviation; and - optionally, an alarm signal (3); indicating an underlying cause for a change in the first (D1), second (D2) and third (D3) data or an underlying physiological change in the patient. |
