abstract | A method of improving the aesthetic appearance of aging skin to decrease one or more of the facial lines, wrinkles or sagging skin, comprising applying topically to said skin a composition comprising: (a) an extract of plant Tiliacora triandra Diels present in an amount sufficient to effect at least one of an increase in fibroblast proliferation; an increase in the proliferation of keratinocytes, a reduction in the activity of collagenase; or an increase in the expression of collagen, said amount being from 0.01% by weight to 5% by weight, with respect to the total weight of the composition, in which said amount refers to an active amount of the plant extract Tiliacora triandra Diels refers to the amount of Tiliacora triandra Diels plant extract after removing the solvent and / or other diluents; and (b) a cosmetically or physiologically acceptable vehicle, the composition being applied in an amount and for a period of time effective to achieve the reduction of said facial lines, wrinkles or sagging skin, obtaining the plant extract by extraction with a mixture solvent comprising a polar organic solvent and water, for 1 to 8 hours at a temperature of 30 ° C to 90 ° C, in which the polar organic solvent is ethanol present in an amount of 40% by volume to 90% by volume, with respect to the total weight of the solvent mixture. |
