abstract A method of decellularizing a tissue, comprising: applying a pressure of at least 200 MPa to a liquid containing a tissue sample comprising mammalian dermis separated from the surrounding epidermis for a time sufficient to destroy substantially all native tissue cells within soft tissue, where destruction of virtually all cells includes disruption of the cell membrane of cells such that washing the tissue sample in saline allows removal of at least 95% of cells of native tissue.
