titleOfInvention | Test to determine sulfate concentration |
abstract | A test method for determining the concentration of sulfate in a liquid sample with the formation of a barium sulfate precipitate using a reagent mixture as a solid or liquid formulation, wherein said reagent mixture comprises: I) at least one soluble barium salt in water; II) at least one chelator that complexes Ba 2+; III) at least one cationic and / or non-ionic surfactant, and the test method comprises the following steps: a) preparing a test reagent container comprising i. said liquid formulation as a test solution; or ii. a ready-to-use test solution obtained by dissolving said solid formulation; b) adding said liquid sample containing sulfate ions, c) mixing the sample with the test solution, and d) measuring the turbidity of the sample in a nephelometer, turbidimeter or photometer for the quantitative determination of sulfate concentration. |
