abstract | A multilayer electrochromic device comprising a first substrate and an anode electrochromic layer comprising a lithium-nickel oxide composition on a first substrate, the electrode chromium anodic layer comprising lithium, nickel, and characterized in that the anodic electrochromic layer additionally comprises the minus one of niobium and tantalum, in which (i) the atomic ratio of lithium to the combined amount of nickel and at least one of niobium to tantalum in the anode electrochromic layer is at least 0.4: 1 ; (ii) the atomic ratio of the amount of at least one of niobium and tantalum to the combined amount of nickel and at least one of niobium to tantalum in the electrochromic layer is at least about 0.025: 1, and ( iii) The anode electrochromatic layer has an interplanar distance greater than at least 2.5 Å as measured by X-ray diffraction, XRD. |
