Pharmaceutical product of calcium aluminosilicate |
abstract |
An oral composition for use as a supportive therapy for treating diarrhea in a subject comprising: an effective amount of an isolated low-sodium anti-diarrheal calcium aluminosilicate ("CASAD"), in which the low-sodium isolated CASAD has a average particle size between 5 and 100 micrometers, is substantially free of contamination with toxic dioxins and heavy metals and has a chemical composition comprising CaO above about 3.2%; MgO ranging from 4.0 to 5.4%; Fe2O3 ranging from 5.4 to 6.5%; K2O ranging from 0.50 to 0.90%; Na2O ranging from 0.10 to 0.30%; MnO ranging from 0.01 to 0.03%; Al2O3 ranging from 14.8 to 18.2%; and SiO2 ranging from 62.4 to 73.5%; in which, the chemical composition is given as a percentage by weight. |
