A process for producing a flexible bag (50a, 50b, 50c, 150a, 150b) comprising: placing a capillary precursor element (CPE) (2, 2a, 102) between two opposite flexible films (22, 24, 122, 124) , the flexible films (22, 24, 122, 124) define a common peripheral edge (26, 126), the CPE (2, 2a, 102) comprises a distribution (6, 6a, 106) of spikes (7, 7a, 107) sandwiched between two opposite polymeric strips (4a, 4b, 104a, 104b); position a first side (28, 128) of the CPE (2, 2a, 102) on a first side of the common peripheral edge (26, 126) and position a second side of the CPE (2, 2a, 102) on a second side of the common peripheral edge (26, 126); first sealing, in a first sealing condition, (i) of the opposite polymeric strips (4a, 4b, 104a, 104b) with each other to form a matrix (18, 118), and (ii) seal the matrix (18, 118 ) to the two opposite flexible films (22, 24, 122, 10 124); and removing the distribution (6, 6a, 106) of pins (7, 7a, 107) from the die (18, 118) to form an in-situ microcapillary strip (10, 10a, 110). |
