An integrated process for the production of fuel components comprising: (A) the transformation of glycerin into an alkoxy-propanediol having the formula RO-CH2-CHOH-CH2OH, where R is C1-C8-alkyl (B ) the transformation of glycerin into 1,2-propanediol (C) the dehydration of the 1,2-propanediol obtained in (B) to propionic aldehyde (D) the reaction of the propionic aldehyde obtained in (C) with the alkoxy-propanediol that has the formula ROCH2-CHOH-CH2OH obtained in (A) to give an acetal having the formula (a) ** Formula ** (E) the transformation of part of the propionic aldehyde obtained in (C) into a propionate having the formula CH3-CH2-COOR ', where R' is a C1-C8 alkyl. |
