Essays for vitamin D epimers |
abstract |
A method of determining an amount of an epimeric vitamin D analyte in a sample suspected of containing the epimeric vitamin D analyte, the method comprising: (a) Providing in combination in a test medium: (i) the sample, and (ii) a vitamin D epimer binding partner that is specific for the vitamin D epimeric analyte; wherein the binding partner is an antibody or an aptamer, (b) incubating the assay medium under conditions for binding of the vitamin D epimer binding partner to the vitamin D epimeric analyte; and (c) determining the amount of the epimeric vitamin D binding-bound complex and relating the amount of the epimeric vitamin D binding-associated complex to the amount of the vitamin D epimeric analyte in the sample, wherein the analyte Epimeric vitamin D is 3-epi-25-hydroxyvitamin D2 or 3-epi-25-hydroxyvitamin D3. |
