An isolated extended recombinant polypeptide (XTEN) comprising a non-repetitive sequence having more than 100 to 3000 amino acid residues where at least 95%, or at least 96%, or at least 97%, or at least 98%, or at least 99% to about 100% of the sequence consists of multiple units of two or more non-overlapping sequence motifs selected from the amino acid sequences of Table 1 wherein the sequence of any two amino acid residues contiguous in any one motif is not repeated more than twice in the same sequence motif. |
