abstract | A method for the preparation of aluminum hydroxyphosphate adjuvant comprising the steps of: (a) jointly mixing a solution of an aluminum salt with a solution of a phosphate in a defined P / Al molar ratio and in the presence of a buffer maintaining a constant pH, wherein said mixture involves the simultaneous and continuous combination of the solution of the aluminum salt and the phosphate solution in a constant reagent ratio; where the defined P / Al ratio is in the range of 2.0-3.5; wherein the phosphate solution has a pH of 7.4 to 12.4, 8.0 to 10.0, or 8.5 to 9.5; and where the buffer is the same as the phosphate solution; and (b) exchange the buffer with a buffer exchange solution to remove at least 80% of any excess phosphate, buffer or other residual salts from the original reagents. |
