A method for providing control signals to a network element of a cable television network (CATV), where functionalities of a CATV network header are distributed between a central header and one or more nodes (RPD; RMD) remote, where the transfer of data between the central header and the one or more remote nodes is carried out in the form of IP data, the method comprising: receiving, in one of said remote nodes, an encapsulated IP control signal from the central header, to control a CATV network element; Decapsulate the control signal; identify, with means of processing the remote node, the provider of the network element from the uncapsulated control signal; determine provider-specific frequency shift modulation (FSK) frequencies based on the identified provider, said frequencies being used for the FSK modulated signal; modulate the control signal into an FSK modulated signal, and transmit the FSK modulated control signal to the CATV network element. |
