abstract A method of producing a triphenylphenol compound of Stachybotrys microspora, the method comprising: first, cultivating a filamentous fungus using a restrictive medium; second, cultivate, on the second day, or after, from the beginning of the first filamentous fungus culture, the filamentous fungus in a production medium to form a Stachybotrys triprenylphenol compound; and recovering and purifying the Stachybotrys triprenylphenol compound from a culture obtained after the second crop, in which the restricted medium and the production medium meet the following condition (i); (i) the restricted medium comprises an amine compound with a content of 0.01 to 0.5% by mass, based on the total volume of the restricted medium, and nitric acid contained as an inorganic salt, and the production medium comprises a organic amine compound that is selected according to the type of Stachybotrys triprenylphenol compound, in which the filamentous fungus belongs to the genus Stachybotrys, in which the Stachybotrys triprenylphenol compound is a Stachybotrys triprenylphenol compound represented by the formula (II) ** Formula ** in which R1 represents a group selected from the following: ** Formula ** in which R2 and R3 of a group (II-1) respectively represent a hydrogen atom, a group 2- carboxyl, a hydroxyl group or a sulfonyl group; and X is -CHY-C (CH3) 2Z; and Y and Z are respectively -H or -OH, or together form a single bond, or in which the Stachybotrys triprenylphenol compound is a Stachybotrys triprenylphenol compound represented by the formula (III) ** Formula ** in that R4 represents a group represented by the following formula (III-1) ** Formula ** in which R5 represents a hydroxyl group that may be present or absent, n represents an integer of 0 or 1; and R4 may also have another substituent, other than the carboxyl group in the α position, which is selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group and an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms; X is -CHY- (CH3) 2Z; and Y and Z are each -H or -OH, or together form a single bond, or in which the Stachybotrys triprenylphenol compound is one selected from the group consisting of SMTP-3, SMTP-4, SMTP-5, SMTP-6, SMTP-7 (Orniplabin), SMTP-8, SMTP-9L, SMTP-10L, SMTP-11L, SMTP-3D, SMTP- 4D, SMTP-5D, SMTP-6D, SMTP-7D or SMTP-8D , and the first culture and the second culture are carried out at a temperature between 4 and 50 ° C in media that respectively have a pH between 3 and 9.
