abstract | A dual dose loading and dose delivery guide system for loading and dispensing a single small dose volume from an injection syringe comprising: (a) a dose delivery guide configured to be placed at least partially around a Extended syringe plunger rod of the injection syringe at a proximal location of the proximal end of a syringe barrel of the injection syringe and distal of the proximal end of the extended plunger rod for a guided displacement of the plunger rod through thereof, in which the dose delivery guide is rigid along its height and has a predetermined dimension, and is configured to stop the movement of the syringe plunger rod extended into the syringe barrel so that there is a predetermined distance between the proximal end of the syringe barrel and the proximal end of the plunger rod, the corresponding predetermined distance to the predetermined dimension of the dose delivery guide; wherein, optionally, the dose delivery guide further comprises an indication of a dose volume that will be ejected by the injection syringe using the dose delivery guide; and (b) a removable dose loading guide comprising a grip portion and a collar portion connected to the grip portion, the collar portion being configured to be removably positioned along the dose delivery guide , in which the collar part is rigid along its height and includes an opening to removably receive the dose delivery guide, and in which the collar part has a predetermined dimension, and is configured to stop the movement of the plunger rod extended into the syringe barrel, so that there is a predetermined distance between the proximal end of the syringe barrel and the proximal end of the plunger rod, the predetermined distance corresponding to the predetermined dimension of the collar part of the removable dose loading guide; wherein, optionally, the removable dose loading guide further comprises an indication of a dose volume that will be retained by the injection syringe using the removable dose loading guide; in which the difference between the predetermined dimension of the dose delivery guide and the predetermined dimension of the collar portion of the removable dose loading guide is h calculated by the formula: where v is the volume of dose to be delivered, r is the radius of the internal dimension of the syringe barrel and h is the distance that the plunger rod has to travel within the syringe barrel to deliver the dose volume; wherein, optionally, the predetermined dimension of the dose delivery guide is adjusted to correct a depression at the proximal end of the syringe barrel; and in which, optionally, the syringe is a glass syringe. |
