abstract | A method of applying a composite coating on a metallic surface of an electrical component, the method comprising: contacting the metallic surface with an electrolytic plating composition comprising (a) a source of tin ions, and (b) a dispersion premixed fluoropolymer particles having an arithmetic mean particle size between 10 and 500 nanometers, and a particle size distribution in which at least 30% by volume of the particles have a particle size of less than 100 nm, wherein the fluoropolymer particles have a premix coating of surfactant molecules thereon; wherein the premix dispersion comprises said fluoropolymer particles, a nonionic surfactant, and a cationic surfactant and applying an external source of electrons to the electrolytic metallization composition to thereby electrolytically deposit the composite coating on the metal surface, in wherein the composite coating comprises tin and the fluoropolymer particles. |
