titleOfInvention Multi-copy reference test
abstract A method comprising: amplifying a nucleic acid sequence of interest in a sample comprising genomic DNA of a subject; amplifying a reference sequence in the sample wherein the reference sequence has at least 80% sequence identity with at least a portion of genomic DNA comprising from about 60 to about 150 base pairs of any of SEQ ID Nos. : 2-8, or wherein the reference sequence comprises 60-150 base pairs of SEQ ID No. 1, wherein the at least one portion is present in at least a first minimum number of copies in the genome; and at least one copy of the at least one portion is present in each of at least a second minimum number of chromosomes; quantify the sequence of interest amplified in relation to the amplified reference sequence; and determining a number of copies of the sequence of interest from the relative quantified amplified sequence of interest, wherein amplification of the sequence of interest and amplification of the reference sequence are performed by the quantitative polymerase chain reaction. TaqMan (qPCR).
