titleOfInvention | DIVA of Erlichia canis (Differentiation between Vaccinated and Infected Animals) |
abstract | An in vitro method for determining the vaccination or infection status of an animal by Ehrlichia canis, whose method comprises: (a) contacting a biological sample of the animal with a reagent comprising one or more first purified E. canis polypeptides that comprise SEQ ID NOs: 2, 16, 17, or combinations thereof; and (b) detect if one or more of the first purified E. canis polypeptides specifically bind to an antibody in the biological sample; wherein if the one or more of the first purified E. canis polypeptides specifically bind to an antibody in the sample, in that case the animal is infected with E. canis and, if the one or more of the first purified polypeptides of E. canis does not specifically bind an antibody in the sample, in that case the animal is either not infected with E. canis or has been vaccinated with a vaccine that does not comprise the one or more of the first purified polypeptides of E. canis . |
