abstract |
A method of preparing a microsphere comprising a lanthanide metal phosphate complex, and the method comprises: (a) providing a lanthanide metal organic complex microsphere, in which case the lanthanide metal is present in an amount of more than 20 Weight% based on the total weight of the microspheres and the lanthanide metal organic complex comprises a lanthanide ion and organic ligands with which the lanthanide ion forms a complex; and then (b) replace at least part of the organic ligands in the lanthanide metal organic complex microsphere with phosphate in a mild chemical reaction, in which case the lanthanide metal is present in the resulting microsphere in an amount of more than 20% by weight based on the total weight of the microsphere and the lanthanide metal complex in the resulting microsphere comprises a lanthanide and phosphate ion. |
