titleOfInvention PROCEDURE AND DEVICE FOR THE DETECTION OF FORMALDEHYDE
abstract Procedure and device for the detection of formaldehyde. The present invention refers to a process for the detection of formaldehyde in the gas phase characterized in that it comprises: a) carrying out a Pictet-Spengler reaction of a primary beta-arylethylamine that has alkoxy groups, hydroxyl groups or combinations of both in 3-positions and 4, with formaldehyde b) dehydrogenate the product obtained in said reaction in the presence of an amino acid and a reducing sugar, so that a) and b) are produced in a single stage on an acidic support, in the absence of solvent, c) and detect the final product.
