Modified self-assembling peptides |
abstract |
A composition for use in a method of treating a subject, wherein the composition is administered as a filler for defects in a bone defect within the subject's body, the composition comprising a modified self-assembling peptide, the peptide comprising: a first domain of amino acids comprising the RADARADARED sequence (SEQ ID NO. 21); and a second amino acid domain that is not self-assembling in isolation, wherein the second amino acid domain comprises at least one sequence selected from the group consisting of: DGRGDSVAYG (SEQ ID NO. 55); ALKRQGRTLYGF (SEQ ID NO. 56); and FHRRIKA (SEQ ID NO. 63), in which the second amino acid domain is linked by a linker to the C-terminus of the first amino acid domain, in which the distance between the last amino acid of the first amino acid domain and the First amino acid of the biologically active minimal sequence in the second amino acid domain is at least a 2-mer or at least a 4-mer and in which the peptide self-assembles to form a filler for bone defects. |
