An isolated nucleic acid comprising a polynucleotide sequence encoding a fusion protein, comprising a glucose regulatory peptide (GP), wherein the polynucleotide sequence (i) comprises a sequence that hybridizes under stringent conditions with AE864 of the Table 9 (SEQ ID NO: 243) or Ex4-AE864 of Table 36 (SEQ ID NO: 897) or the complement thereof and has at least 70% sequence identity or 80% or 90% or 95% or 97% or 98% or 99% up to 100% sequence identity with respect to AE864 of table 9 (SEQ ID NO: 243) or Ex4-AE864 of table 36 (SEQ ID NO: 897) or the complement thereof, and (ii) encodes a fusion protein comprising (a) exendin-4 and having an amino acid sequence showing at least 95% sequence identity with respect to Ex4-AE864 of Table 36 (SEQ ID NO: 896) or (b) GLP-1 and having an amino acid sequence showing at least 95% sequence identity with respect to GLP1-AE864 of table 36 (SEQ ID NO: 986) and that retains at least a part of the biological activity of the native GP. |
