A method to raise a salmon that is a Salmo sp. or an Oncorhynchus sp., the method comprising feeding the salmon with a feed comprising lipid, comprising the free and esterified fatty acids of the total lipid of the feed at least 5.5% (w / w) of stearidonic acid (SDA), where the salmon, after having been fed with the feed for at least 6 weeks, has higher levels of SDA and eicosatetraenoic acid (ETA) in the muscle tissue when compared to a salmon fed the same feed but lacks practically SDA . |
