A beverage cartridge (150) for use with a container-based beverage dispensing system (100), the cartridge comprising: a capsule (152) including a chamber (156), an opening (158) and a cover (160 ) of sealing arranged on the opening (158), in which the sealing cover (160) is fixed to the edges of the opening (158), a beverage ingredient disposed inside the chamber (156); characterized in that the beverage cartridge further comprises: a cap (154) attached to the capsule (152), wherein the cap (154) includes a retaining means (166) with an empty portion (168) that creates one or more flaps (170) in the retention means (166) that bend with the pressure thereby breaking the sealing cover (160) and releasing the beverage ingredient. |
