titleOfInvention | Aqueous dispersion of polymer based on multistructured particles for aqueous coatings with better resistance to blockage and fingerprints and with better durability |
abstract | Aqueous polymer dispersion based on multistructured polymer particles (at least 3 different polymer phases) characterized in that said particle comprises: - a polymer phase as core, based on a polymer P1 resulting from the emulsion polymerization of a composition of monomers M1, P1 having a glass transition temperature Tg1 calculated according to Fox ranging from 60 to 120 ºC, preferably from 60 to 100 ºC, - a second polymer phase that surrounds said core, based on a polymer P2 resulting from the emulsion polymerization of a composition of monomers M2, P2 having a glass transition temperature Tg2 calculated according to Fox ranging from -60 to 40 °C, preferably from -30 to 30 °C, - a third external polymer phase (or shell) which surrounds said phase P2 based on a polymer P3 resulting from the emulsion polymerization of a composition of monomers M3, P3 having a glass transition temperature Tg3 calculated according to Fox, higher at Tg2, in particular higher by more than 5°C and not exceeding 120°C, preferably from 60 to 120°C and more preferably from 60 to 115°C and a number-average molecular mass Mn not exceeding 150,000, preferably ranging from 1000 to 150,000, the proportions by weight with respect to the total weight of polymer being P1 + P2 + P3: - for P1 from 5 to 50% - for P2 from 40 to 85%, preferably from 45 to 80% - for P3 from 5 to 25%, preferably from 10 to 20%, the sum of said proportions by weight (P1 + P2 + P3) being equal to 100% and where said composition M3 from which P3 results and eventually said composition M2 from which P2 results comprise at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer carrying, in addition to its ethylenic unsaturation, at least one functional group X selected from: acetoacetoxy, diacetone, methylol or alkoxysilane, carboxy/anhydride, hydroxy, amine, epoxy (or oxirane), phosphate, phosphonate, phosphinate, sulfate, sulfonate, amide, imide, aziridine, oxazoline, imidazole , cyclic carbonate, benzophenone, ureido, with the proviso that in the case of the presence of more than one monomer bearing the functional group X, said groups X cannot react with each other during the preparation of said dispersion or during storage. |
