A method of burning coal in an oven to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides and at least one of sulfur and mercury oxides, the method comprising burning a refined coal in the oven, wherein the refined carbon comprises a mixture of Sub-bituminous carbon or lignite carbon, composed of bromine and a powder adsorbent, and wherein the powder adsorbent comprises calcium, silica, alumina and also comprises less than 1% by weight of Na2O and less than 1% of K2O, based on the weight of the powder adsorbent, wherein the powder adsorbent comprises cement kiln powder (CKD). |
