A personal care composition additive for providing an extended benefit to a keratin surface comprising: a) a substantive polymer, which is a hydrophobically modified cationically substituted hydroxyethyl cellulose with a hydrophobic modification and a cationic modification by hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride and b) a polar, water-miscible solvent, wherein the polar solvent is glycerin and is in a 50:50 mixture by weight with water, wherein the solution of the substantive polymer and the polar, water-miscible solvent is at a concentration of substantive polymer to solvent in the range of 0.1% by weight to 20% by weight and wherein the substantive polymer - has a molecular weight (MW), as determined by size exclusion chromatography, in the range of about 300 kDalton and - has a cationic degree of substitution (Cat-DS) in the range of 0.2 to 3.0 units. |
