abstract A system for producing an electrolyte for a metal-air battery, said system comprising: - a unit comprising a saturated electrolyte, and comprising at least one input and at least one output; and - a unit comprising a diluted electrolyte, and comprising at least one input and at least one output; wherein a first outlet of said saturated electrolyte unit is connected to a first input of said diluted electrolyte unit, such that the saturated electrolyte can be transferred from said saturated electrolyte unit to said diluted electrolyte unit; and in which said first output of said diluted electrolyte unit is connected to said metal-air battery; wherein, a first inlet of said saturated electrolyte unit, a second inlet of said diluted electrolyte unit or a combination thereof, are connected to a source of liquid from which liquid can be transferred to said saturated electrolyte unit , to said diluted electrolyte unit or a combination thereof; wherein, said metal-air battery is used to operate an electric vehicle; and in which, said liquid source is placed either on board the vehicle, or externally to the vehicle.
