Method for the production of a composition comprising Enterovirus particles, where the method comprises the steps of: a) production of a medium containing the Enterovirus particles; b) purification of Enterovirus particles from the medium, whereby during at least part of the purification a basic amino acid or derivative is present at a final concentration of at least 1 mM and is sufficient to prevent or reduce the aggregation of Enterovirus particles; e, c) inactivation of Enterovirus particles; where the basic amino acid or derivative is selected from the group consisting of: arginine, lysine, histidine, arginine HCl, lysine HCl, histidine HCl, agmatine, L-arginine ethyl ester dihydrochloride, tranexamic acid, DL-5-hydroxylysine hydrochloride, L-lysine methyl ester dihydrochloride, 3-methyl-L-histidine, derived salts and combinations thereof. |
