abstract | A coating composition, comprising: a first copolymer obtainable by emulsion polymerization of one or more monomers comprising one or more (meth)acrylates, one or more acidic monomers, and optionally styrene, said first copolymer having a Tg from -50 °C to -23 °C, measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measuring the midpoint temperature using ASTM D 3418-08 and which is present in an amount of 10-50% by weight based on total polymer content; a second copolymer obtainable by emulsion polymerization of one or more monomers comprising one or more (meth)acrylates, one or more acidic monomers, and optionally styrene, said second copolymer having a Tg of -15°C to 25°C , measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measuring the midpoint temperature using ASTM D 3418-08 and which is present in an amount of 50-90% by weight based on the total polymer content; a filler comprising at least one pigment; a pigment dispersing agent; a thickener; an antifoam; a surfactant; and water having said coating composition having a viscosity of from 12 to 85 Pa s at 25°C, a volume solids of more than 50%, and a weight solids of more than 60%, wherein the coating composition, when applied as a film, dried and abraded for 1000 hours, passes the mandrel bend test set forth in ASTM D 6083-05 at -26°C. |
