abstract | An electronic device comprising a. a heat source arranged in direct alignment with a battery for the device, b. a thermal management system in thermal contact with the heat source, i. the thermal management system extends to at least a first surface of the battery, c. a second portion of the thermal management system extending along the first surface and a second surface of the battery, where the battery is not completely enclosed by the thermal management system, the portion is in thermal communication with a plurality of battery cells and the portion having a sufficiently high scattering coefficient to avoid creating a localized focus in one of the cells of such magnitude that it inhibits battery function, and d. the battery and the thermal management system distanced from the external surface of the device where the device is devoid of a partition between the battery and the heat source. |
