abstract | A hydrocarbon-insoluble solid catalyst component useful in the polymerization of olefins containing magnesium, titanium, and halogen, further containing an internal electron donor which is a compound containing electron-donating substituents with the structure: where R, R ', R1, R2 and R3 are individually hydrocarbon or substituted hydrocarbon groups containing from 1 to 20 carbon atoms and R1, R2 and R3 may be hydrogen; and wherein the R1 and R2 groups and/or the R2 and R3 groups can be bonded to form a cyclic structure, the internal electron donor components are incorporated into the solid supported catalyst component in a total amount of 0.001 to 0, 6 moles per gram of titanium atoms in the titanium compound. |
