abstract |
A soil amendment composition for controlling soil pests, the composition comprising: (a) an effective amount of an unpurified glycerin treated composition, wherein the unpurified glycerin composition is obtained as a byproduct of a reaction mixture for Producing biodiesel fuel and the unpurified glycerin composition is treated by: (i) adjusting the pH of the unpurified glycerin composition to 4.0 to 6.8 to obtain a neutralized composition; and (ii) separation of an insoluble precipitate from the composition; thus obtaining the unpurified treated glycerin composition; and (b) an effective amount of a glycerin soluble nitrogen source. |
