titleOfInvention | Peptides and methods for the detection of leishmaniasis |
abstract | In vitro diagnostic method for the detection of the presence or absence of antibodies indicative of a South American Leishmania strain responsible for American tegumentary leishmaniasis, comprising the steps of: a) contacting the H2A-P9 peptides consisting of the sequence I KNOW THAT. ID. No. 9 and P2a-P6 consisting of the sequence SEQ. ID. N ° 67, separately or mixed together, with a biological sample for a time and under sufficient conditions to form an immune complex, each of said peptides being capable of forming an immune complex with antibodies indicative of a South American Leishmania strain responsible for the American tegumentary leishmaniasis; and b) detecting the presence or absence of the immune complex formed in a), where the detection of the presence of the immune complex indicates the presence of antibodies indicative of a South American Leishmania strain responsible for American integumentary leishmaniasis. |
