A non-anticoagulant sulfated polysaccharide (NASP) in combination with an inhibitor of gastrointestinal epithelial barrier permeation in a procoagulant amount of a non-anticoagulant sulfated polysaccharide (NASP) for use in improving blood coagulation in a subject, where the amount non-anticoagulant sulfated polysaccharide procoagulant (NASP) in combination with the gastrointestinal epithelial barrier permeation enhancer is an oral dosage formulation and wherein the gastrointestinal epithelial barrier permeation enhancer comprises chitosan and bromelain where the proportion of Chitosan to Bromelain is sufficient to increase permeation twice or more than would be achieved by adding Chitosan or Bromelain individually. |
