abstract |
A laser machined system (200) adapted to manufacture tissue retainers in a suture thread (204), in which the laser machined system comprises: a laser subsystem (210) adapted to provide a laser beam (202); an optical subsystem (220) adapted to receive the laser beam and generate a focused laser beam directed at a volume of the suture thread; a transport subsystem (240) adapted to move the suture in relation to the laser beam; an imaging subsystem (230) adapted to form an image of the suture and generate image data; and a control subsystem (250) adapted to control the laser subsystem and the transport subsystem to create a tissue retainer of a selected configuration at a selected location in said suture thread, and receive said image data from the formation subsystem of images, wherein the control subsystem (250) is further adapted to validate the retention configuration using said image data. |
