abstract |
An ejector mechanism with load isolation to generate drops of a fluid comprising: a generating plate (1632) having a plurality of openings (1626) formed through its thickness; a first conductive layer; and a second conductive layer; characterized by a piezoelectric actuator (1604) operable to directly or indirectly oscillate the generator plate (1632) after the application of a voltage; and a dielectric layer (1662); wherein the first conductive layer separates the piezoelectric actuator (1604) from the dielectric layer (1662), the dielectric layer (1662) separates the first conductive layer from the second conductive layer, and the second conductive layer separates the dielectric layer (1662) of the generating plate (1632), thereby isolating the load from and grounded the generating plate (1632). |
