abstract A manufacturing process of a polyester polymer, comprising: a) polycondensing a polyester polymer in the presence of one or more polycondensation catalysts; b) adding at least one additive compound comprising a catalyst deactivating compound to said polyester polymer after said polyester polymer has reached an intrinsic viscosity (V.It.) of at least 0.45 dl / g, said being V.It. determined at 25 ° C in 60% phenol and 40% 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane at a concentration of 0.25 g / 50 ml using a viscometer according to ASTM D4603 or ASTM D5225; and c) further increase the V.It. of said polyester polymer up to a V.It. of at least 0.72 dl / g thereby producing a polyester polymer with a concentration of vinyl ends of at least 0.8 μeq / gram and an acetaldehyde (AA) generation rate of less than 22 ppm, the process being for measuring the concentration of vinyl ends defined in the description and the AA generation rate determined at 295 ° C for 5 min using ASTM F2013-00, where the sample preparation for the measurement of vinyl end concentration and the AA generation rate is defined in the description, respectively; wherein said polycondensation catalyst comprises titanium and said catalyst deactivator comprises phosphorus atoms and is present in an amount such that the molar ratio of phosphorus to titanium is at least 0.7 to 1.
