Process for producing an aqueous suspension comprising a mixture of particles comprising superficially modified calcium carbonate (MCC) and particles comprising precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC), the process comprising the steps of: a) providing an aqueous suspension of particles that comprising surface modified calcium carbonate (MCC), b) providing an aqueous suspension of particles comprising precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC), c) contacting said aqueous suspension of particles comprising surface modified calcium carbonate (MCC) of step a) with said aqueous suspension of particles comprising precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) of step b) to obtain an aqueous suspension comprising a mixture of particles comprising surface modified calcium carbonate (MCC) and particles comprising precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC), and d) drying out the aqueous suspension obtained a in step c) to obtain an aqueous suspension comprising a mixture of particles comprising surface modified calcium carbonate (MCC) and particles comprising precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC), wherein the mixture comprises particles comprising carbonate of surface modified calcium (MCC) and particles comprising precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) in a weight ratio [MCC / PCC] of 99: 1 to 50:50. |
