An article that can be implanted to regulate the direction of blood flow in a human patient, comprising: a leaflet comprising more than one layer of a composite material having at least one fluoropolymer layer having a plurality of pores and an elastomer present substantially in all pores of the fluoropolymer layers, the composite material comprising less than about 80% fluoropolymer by weight; and further comprising an additional elastomer layer between the layers of the composite material. |
