abstract An elution system 82Sr / 82Rb (14), comprising: an 82Sr / 82Rb generator (8); a processor; and a memory communicatively coupled to the processor when the system is operational, the memory carries instructions executable by the processor which, when executed in the processor, causes the system to at least: begin to evaluate a concentration of 82Rb, 82Sr, or 85Sr in a fluid eluting from the generator, the volume of the fluid eluting from the generator, or the pressure of the fluid flowing through at least a portion of the system; when the evaluation is completed, generate a result in a user interface (44) that recommends a course of action or no course of action, based on the result of the evaluation, or store an indication of the evaluation result in a location of memory, and upload the indication of the evaluation result to a computer through a communications network; and when the evaluation is interrupted, stopping the generator to prevent the user from circumventing the quality control, characterized in that the evaluation comprises: the determination of a ratio of the concentration of 82Sr to 82Rb and a ratio of the concentration of 85Sr to 82Rb in the fluid, and in which the memory also contains instructions that, when executed in the processor, make the system at least: in response to the determination that a ratio of the concentration of 82Sr to 82Rb, or 85Sr to 82Rb is greater than a maximum USP threshold, which prevents elution.
