abstract A method of producing hydrolyzed allergens from allergens comprising the steps of: a) extraction of an allergen source comprising allergenic proteins to form a crude extract, b) purification of the crude extract to remove non-protein components for forming a purified extract, c) denaturing the purified extract with a first denaturing agent that is a mixture of chaotropic agents and reducing agents to form a purified denatured extract, f) hydrolyzing the mixture of denatured allergens to form hydrolyzed allergens, g ) Purification of hydrolyzed allergens to remove peptides with molecular weights above 10,000 Da and below 1,000 Da, in which 70% or more of the peptides are between 10,000 Da and 1,000 Da, in which the source of Allergens are peanuts or house dust mites characterized by stages d) refining the e Purified denatured tract to remove impurities not covalently bound to proteins to form a refined denatured extract, e) denatured refined denatured extract with a second denaturing agent that is a mixture of chaotropic agents and reducing agents to form a denatured allergen between stages c) and f).
