titleOfInvention Expanded utility of red blood cell-derived microparticles (RMP) for the treatment of bleeding
abstract A method for producing microparticles derived from red blood cells (RMP) comprising the steps of: suspending the red blood cells in an aqueous diluent to form a cell suspension; pressurize the cell suspension; extrude the pressurized cell suspension into a region of lower pressure to generate shear forces on the suspended red blood cells, so that the suspended cells become a suspension of raw RMP; and remove all whole red blood cells from the suspension of the raw RMPs to manufacture a final RMP suspension.
