Conjugate of factor VIIa - (poly) sialic acid that has a prolonged half-life in vivo |
abstract |
Chemically modified FVIIa molecule comprising: (a) a FVIIa molecule selected from the group consisting of plasma FVIIa and recombinant FVIIa (rFVIIa); and (b) at least one physiologically acceptable carbohydrate moiety comprising 1 to 4 moieties of bound sialic acid or polysalic acid bonded to one or more oxidized carbohydrate moieties in said FVIIa; and wherein the in vivo half-life of said chemically modified FVIIa molecule is prolonged in the blood of a mammal compared to the in vivo half-life of an FVIIa molecule that is not chemically modified. |
